Sally Spectre the
Musical, A Children's Horror Story for Adults.
|
Synopsis Sally Spectre is the ghastly tale of a 5-year old girl that had… shall we say… a run-in with a twisted murderer. Poor Sally didn't fare too well against her assailant and finds that her world has quite suddenly become very restrictive. In fact, she’s dead… but she hasn’t figured that part out just yet. An
innocent soul, Sally doesn't know what to do to climb out of the
tangled mess that’s been created by this sudden state of
Purgatory. Being the sweet and innocent girl she is, Sally does find
a way to bring about some comfort in her new situation. The toys she
had as a little girl spring to life, fueled by her imagination.
Bartholomew, her ever dedicated toy soldier along with Nero, a rag
doll clown and Winky, a cowardly teddy bear each do their part to
help Sally find the peace that her courageous soul deserves. What
none of them realize is that dead or otherwise - Sally’s still on
borrowed time. That's
a lot for five-year old mind... and you'd be right if you were
betting that it has some interesting effects on her behavior as she
learns to navigate her new and curious world. Will
she manage to solve the mystery that leads her to a better
afterlife? Will the odd souls and creatures, led by an overconfident
Wraith with an irrational fear of rats, take her away forever? Sally Spectre the Musical is a scary and powerful tale of acceptance, truth and confronting one's fears. Surprisingly touching, the story and songs reach deep into the hearts of anyone who ever asked themselves a question that begins with "what if…" There's
a little Sally in us all...
